Yoga day at Crossfit Powerhour.  Another Crossfit member, Joelle was the instructor.  This wasn’t the hot yoga that I tried last week, although I REALLY liked that one.  I just couldn’t get to the class.  I am uncertain which kind of yoga this was called, maybe Vinyasa?  There was a little more emphasis on meditation with this type.  I can do without the meditation-just please stretch and work me out.  Maybe someday I’ll enjoy “letting my mind go” but right now I just find myself trying not to giggle.  That being said, Mobility exercises of any kind are so important to any fitness routine because it prevents injuries.  I am certain I’ve got a mild case of plantar fascitis and I am convinced if I had started yoga sooner I’d have prevented it.   Rusty was with me-it was just the two of us this past weekend.  He LOVED it.  My sweet, endlessly energetic 8 year old really, really liked yoga.  He asked if we can go back every saturday.  Well-we are going to try.  Whether or not I like meditating-it sure makes my hips and calves and hamstrings feel so much better.  And I do like anything that causes me to walk away with new goals and there was a wall exercise she worked into the routine that proved my shoulders are still WEAK!

Cardio Day-Jim and I went for a 45 minute Run.  My average heart rate was only 126 although I did get it up to 139 for a few minutes-so this was an “easy” paced jog.  Really nothing around the hills in the Country Acres development is easy…

Tuesday 12/08/2015

Crossfit Day.

First the Warm Up (which is always really a workout):

4 Rounds of 6 push ups and 30 DU’s or 60 Singles.  Then 3 rounds of 20 sit ups, 10 stationary lunges, and 10 med ball slams.

Teams of 4-5 Athletes
AMRAP 20:
12/8 Calorie Row
10 Kettlebell Swings (53/35)
50′ Walking Lunge
Once the first athlete clears the rower, the second athlete can start.

Cardio Day

30 Minute run with Kara and Jim.  I had to rush off for my taping practical and did not have time to go as long as I’d have usually enjoyed.  But, my average heart rate was 130 and I got myself up to 150.  It felt super!  I tried to make it to hot yoga wed but we went out to dinner instead.  Rusty had a half day and we went to a roller skating party-he was pooped and needed some snuggle time. Then we went to the Grand Colonial.  I had shellfish and salad.  Salad wasn’t all that great-the dressing was too sweet.

Thursday 12/10/2015

Crossfit Day and Jim went with me.  Love that man!  It’s tough getting up at 5:15am for a 6am workout!

Warm up:  was called “Annie”.  It was DU’s and Sit-ups each:  50-40-30-20-10 and you had 10 minutes to do as much as you can.  I still can’t do DU’s, I’m working on it.  Am I the only one that hasn’t been able to jump without needing to run to the bathroom ever since their kid was born?

And the WOD (workout of the day).  I did 35lbs but I feel like I could have done 45-50.  Next time I’ll try!  Crossfit at RX here I come!

Cardio Day with Kara and we ROCKED it.  45 minute run! No clue what my heart rate was because my fitbit lost it’s charge (hate that) but I STILL feel good and the run ended 3.5 hours ago!

Love my workouts.  They are doing great physiological things to my body and it’s really neat to see.  Now, is it time for a glass of Cabernet?  Vodka and soda?
